STOP TB; National & Regional

Project 1: TB National

This project focuses on producing critical data regarding rights violations associated with TB. By leveraging the power of law and human rights, Lawyers Alert Nigeria aims to foster a stronger TB movement, enable evidence-based advocacy, and empower PATBs to participate effectively in ending stigma and discrimination surrounding TB through TB coalitions in Lagos and FCT

Project 2: TB Regional

In collaboration with lawmakers and judges in Anglophone Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Kenya), we will continue our work on enhancing access to justice for individuals affected by TB. This project will involve engaging with parliamentary representatives and organizing judicial dialogues to promote a rights-based, people-centric TB response. Together, we're championing accountability and access to justice in the fight against TB.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our commitment to improving the lives of those affected by TB through legal empowerment and advocacy.

Lawyers Alert & Civicus Global Alliance

Lawyers Alert Nigeria is delighted to officially announce our partnership with CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation "We Rise" campaign project. This collaboration is focused on promoting the right to peaceful assembly for citizens, with a particular emphasis on women, youth, and vulnerable populations, all without any undue restrictions.

The project is aptly titled "Increasing Civic Rights and Freedom of Peaceful Assembly in Nigeria" (FOPA). Over the course of seven months Lawyers Alert Nigeria and CIVICUS aim to work together to advance and enhance the rights associated with freedom of peaceful assembly in Nigeria. This endeavor is particularly significant, given Nigeria's status as a signatory to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, which unequivocally recognizes the right to assembly in Article 11. Consequently, this right is enshrined in Nigeria's legal framework, obligating the country to uphold and protect the right to peaceful assembly, which regrettably, is often constrained in practice.

To achieve our objectives, Lawyers Alert will implement this project through a multifaceted approach that includes advocacy with relevant stakeholders, the dissemination of key messages through public awareness campaigns, and the provision of legal services to those in need.
