Lawyers Alert joins launch of SPRiNG Programme on Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Benue State

Lawyers Alert participated in the official launch of the UK–Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office FCDO Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria SPRiNG Programme in Benue State.
The launch held on the 20th of January, 2026 brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, development partners, civil society organisations, and community actors, to align priorities and reinforce collective commitment to peacebuilding, resilience, and inclusive development in the State.
Lawyers Alert was represented at the event by Mary Dzuamo Esq, who joined discussions focused on strengthening coordination among stakeholders and ensuring that community voices remain central to peace and development interventions.
The Spring program, which is being implemented by Tetra Tech International Development in partnership with the Centre for Democracy and Development, HD, and Nextier SPD, SPRiNG adopted a collaborative and evidence-based approach to addressing the root causes of conflict and vulnerability.
Strategically, the program was designed to strengthen conflict prevention and management, promote social cohesion, and support climate-resilient livelihoods across communities in the state.
Lawyers Alert at the launch reaffirmed its commitment to contributing its expertise in human rights, justice, and community engagement to support the effective implementation of the programme and ensure that peace and development interventions are people-centred and sustainable.
