Two of our Legal Officers, Ifechi Aleke and Mary Nguemo Dzuamo, have successfully completed a specialised training on Digital Rights Litigation aimed at strengthening legal responses to emerging violations in the digital space.
The capacity-building programme, organised by Digicivic, focused on strengthening legal strategies for the protection of online freedoms, addressing digital rights violations, and enhancing access to justice in an increasingly technology-driven environment. The training also explored evolving legal frameworks and practical approaches for safeguarding fundamental rights in digital contexts.
Through the programme, the officers gained practical skills to effectively handle cases involving digital expression, privacy, data protection, and other technology-related human rights issues. This enhances their capacity to respond to contemporary rights challenges and strengthens Lawyers Alert’s litigation and advocacy work in the digital space.
The training further reinforces Lawyers Alert’s commitment to advancing rights-based advocacy, ensuring that legal protections keep pace with technological advancement, and promoting accountability in the protection of digital rights.
