President of Lawyers Alert Appointed to the Board of International TB and Lung Disease Training and Education Sub-Committee

Lawyers Alert President, Dr Rommy Mom, has been appointed to the Training and Education Sub-Committee of the Board of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, a distinguished global recognition of his leadership and commitment to advancing public health and human rights.

In the appointment letter, the Union noted his deep “expertise at the intersection of law, human rights, and health, with extensive experience in LMIC settings and a strong focus on tuberculosis.”

The appointment also reflects his long-standing work in training, capacity building, and training-of-trainers for policymakers, civil society organisations, and community actors, as well as his experience in curriculum development, facilitation, and rights-based health programming.

It further underscores his continued commitment to strengthening health systems and improving education strategies for the prevention and control of tuberculosis and other lung diseases.

This milestone also highlights our organisation’s dedication to knowledge exchange, institutional strengthening, and bridging gaps between health and justice, contributing meaningfully to global efforts toward equitable, community-centered health interventions.
