The case between Rommy Mom esq, President of Lawyers Alert Vs The Benue State Emergency Management Agency, BSEMA comes up tomorrow 9th May 2013, before Hon Justice Ada Onum, presiding Judge of the Benue High Court 2 at 9 O’clock in the forenoon. Save for phone discussions between the Agency and Mr Mom on exactly what he wants tendered, as of today the State Government is yet to officially react to the suit which principally seeks to have the State come out with the facts regarding the N500m assistance grant by the Federal Government to the flood victims and other support totaling about N700m. Mr Rommy Mom esq seeks this information under the Freedom of the Information Act 2011. It should be noted that almost a year since the flooding, victims are yet to be assisted even as the funds are in the possession of the State Government which was given the money to hand over to the victims. Other states that suffered similar fate have since distributed the money to citizens whom it was meant for. Persons interested in the matter are invited to the court, especially flood victims to know exactly what is happening to their money.
